Brittany Lecates, an Early Childhood Care and Education student at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College from Valdosta, has been named as the college’s winner of the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) for 2014.

Lecates will now proceed to regional judging on March 10. All college GOAL winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Atlanta for two days in April. Nine regional finalists, three finalists from the three regions, will be announced in Atlanta on April 24, 2014. A panel of leaders from the business, industry and government sectors will interview them and choose one to be the 2014 state GOAL winner and the recipient of the GOAL medallion.

“I am honored to be chosen as the 2014 GOAL recipient for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. Meeting the other nominees has been such a wonderful experience, and I am grateful for this opportunity I have been given. I look forward to representing Wiregrass throughout the following year.”
